Real search volume, competition and bid data, for no credits at all. Not a trial. Free.
It runs on our platform credentials rather than your balance, so it never touches the account. Pull the ideas, then push the ones worth tracking straight into Rank Tracker.
- Search volume, competition, bid data — Real numbers on every idea it returns, not a proprietary difficulty score we invented.
- Zero credits, every time — Not a free tier and not a monthly allowance. It does not deduct anything, ever.
- Targeted by location — The United States and its states. It is not an international dataset and we won't imply it is.
- Straight into Rank Tracker — The keywords worth watching become tracked keywords in one step.
- Or copy them out — Take the list somewhere else. No export file — copy or the tracker hand-off, that's the honest list.
- A reason to open the platform — On a day you weren't buying anything. That's genuinely why it exists.
Keyword research
that never touches your credit balance.
Every keyword tool in this market charges you by the lookup, the seat or the month.
This one doesn't charge at all, and the reason is boring rather than generous: it runs on platform-level credentials instead of yours.
We're also not going to pretend that makes us a research suite. It's a utility. It's here because you shouldn't have to open another tab to get a volume figure.
No card. Verify your email and 30 credits land in your account — The free credits are beside the point here.
The free credits are beside the point here.
This is the one tool where the welcome grant is irrelevant. The Keyword Planner is free forever and does not touch your balance at all — no credit charge, no allowance, no counter running in the corner. Verify your email, take the 30 credits anyway, and spend them on the tools that actually cost something.
Founding accounts lock $0.35 a credit on every plan and every top-up — the rate that otherwise needs a $1,750-a-month plan. A few founding spots are left.
No card. Nothing expires on a timer.
The mechanism
Seed, location, numbers, tracker.
Four steps, and none of them involve a billing decision. That's the entire pitch and we're not going to inflate it.
- 01
Pick the client and the location
Location targeting covers the United States and its states, which matters — a national volume figure is a different number from the one your client's city actually generates.
- 02
Give it a seed
A service, a product, a phrase a customer would type. It returns ideas around it rather than a hundred near-identical variants of the same head term.
- 03
Read the numbers attached to each idea
Search volume, competition and bid data. Bid data is the one people skip and shouldn't — what an advertiser is willing to pay for a click is the closest thing you get to a free commercial-intent signal.
- 04
Nothing gets deducted
No credit charge at this step or any other. Run it forty times in an afternoon while you're scoping a client. The balance does not move.
- 05
Push what's worth watching into Rank Tracker
One step from research into tracked keywords, in the same account, against the same client record. You do not re-key a list into a second product.
- 06
Or copy the rest out
Take it into a proposal, a brief, a spreadsheet. Being precise: those two — the tracker hand-off and copying out — are the only routes out of this tool. There is no export file and no campaign hand-off.
What you end up with
A list with real numbers on it.
- Keyword ideas around your seed
- The list itself, generated per client and per location.
- Search volume
- Real figures, not a banded estimate dressed up as data.
- Competition
- How contested the term is, on the same row as the volume.
- Bid data
- What the term is worth to an advertiser — the cheapest commercial-intent read available.
- A one-step hand-off
- Straight into Rank Tracker as tracked keywords, without retyping anything.

The countable part
What it costs and what it does.
- Cost
- Free. No credit charge at all, on any run.
- Why it's free
- It runs on platform-level credentials rather than your balance. That's the whole reason, and it isn't going to change.
- Data returned
- Search volume, competition and bid data, per idea.
- Location targeting
- The United States and its states. Not international.
- Getting results out
- Copy them out, or push straight into Rank Tracker as tracked keywords. No export file, no campaign hand-off.
- Keyword clustering
- Not here. Clustering is a step inside Campaign Builder, and we won't sell it twice.
- Free credits
- Irrelevant to this tool. Your 30 credits stay untouched.
- What's new
- A live changelog panel in your dashboard, newest first, tagged new, improved or fixed. New tools ship regularly.
This is supporting cast and we'll say so. It is not the reason to open an account, it does not compete with a dedicated research suite on depth, and it is not going to be sold to you as one.
What it costs to find out
The free credits are beside the point here. No card.
This is the one tool where the welcome grant is irrelevant. The Keyword Planner is free forever and does not touch your balance at all — no credit charge, no allowance, no counter running in the corner. Verify your email, take the 30 credits anyway, and spend them on the tools that actually cost something.
Verify your email and 30 credits land in the account. Not a trial that takes your card "for verification". No card at all.
And nothing expires on a timer. Credits sit in the account until you spend them.
Launch — founding accounts
$0.35 a credit, locked for good.
Credits normally run $0.50 at the smallest amount and slide down to $0.35 only at 5,000 a month — a $1,750-a-month plan.
Founding accounts get that bottom rate on every plan, every top-up and every pay-as-you-go purchase, starting at a $35 top-up. Same rate. One fiftieth of the commitment.
It's written onto your account, not onto a coupon you have to remember, and it applies for as long as you have the account.
A few founding spots are left. When they're gone, so is the rate.
| Credits | Standard | Founding | You keep |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100 | $50 | $35 | $15 |
| 500 | $225 | $175 | $50 |
| 1,000 | $400 | $350 | $50 |
| 5,000 | $1,750 | $1,750 | — |
The last row is the point: at 5,000 credits the two prices meet, because $0.35 is the volume rate. Founding accounts get it without the volume.
30 credits on email verification, no card, and the locked rate is applied to the account itself. Every deliverable's cost in credits is printed on the button that spends them.
Before you ask
The questions we'd ask.
- Is it really free, or free for now?
- Really free, permanently. It is not a trial, not a capped allowance, and not a loss-leader with a countdown on it. It runs on platform-level credentials rather than your credit balance, so there is no per-run cost to pass on to you in the first place.
- Then why would you give it away?
- Because we have no research-data advantage and pretending otherwise would be the fastest way to lose a comparison we shouldn't be in. Nobody is switching platforms for our keyword tool. It's here because it's useful, and because it gives you a reason to open the platform on a day you weren't buying anything. That's the honest commercial answer.
- Does it cover international markets?
- No. Location targeting is the United States and its states. If your client's market is outside that, this tool is not the one for the job and we'd rather you find that out here than after you've built a proposal on it.
- Can I export the results to a file?
- No. You can copy them out, or push them into Rank Tracker in one step as tracked keywords. That's the complete list of exits and we're stating it plainly rather than letting you discover it mid-workflow.
Keyword research
that never touches your credit balance.
Verify an email. That's the entire cost. No card, no allowance, no counter.
Run it on a client you already know well. If the volumes match what you'd expect, you've just removed a line item from your stack — and you still have all thirty credits.
Then spend those on the tools that ship something.
30 credits on email verification. No card. A few founding spots are left.
